Hellenic Ministry of Health and Welfare

The subject of this study was the examination and evaluation of the existing legal framework for income support of people with disabilities, as provided for by policy programmes of economic assistance regulated and enforced by the central administration of the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Specifically, the functional efficiency of the programmes addressing different groups of people with disabilities was appraised. Legal gaps in the protection of the above mentioned groups were underlined in order to be taken into consideration by Social Policy makers in future amendments. Finally, different models for the introduction of a new system were examined.
