That’s when different forms of discrimination – such as those based on gender, race or ethnicity, disability, class, or migration status – overlap and interact, and they can significantly increase exposure to harm.
Understanding these layered risks is essential. It helps us move beyond simplistic explanations and design prevention and protection responses that truly reach the children who need them most.
