Third issue of EPHESUS Insights

In November 2025, the third issue of EPHESUS Insights was published, featuring the latest news from the EPHESUS project.

Among other things, it published the database for the European Supervision Order (ESO), which presents the pre-trial supervision measures in five EU Member States (Greece, Bulgaria, Spain, Portugal, and Romania).

The tool aims to increase the use of the European Supervision Order (Framework Decision 2009/829/JHA) instead of the European Arrest Warrant (EAW) and the imposition of provisional detention.

The database is available here in Greek, English, and the languages of the consortium partners.

Furthermore, you can listen to the second EPHESUS podcast with an interview with Ms. Iulia Gabriela Lulciuc, a judge specializing in the European Arrest Warrant, from the Court of Suceava, Romania. The podcast is available in English here.

The Center for European Constitutional Law – Tsatsos Foundation coordinates the EPHESUS project – Promoting fundamental rights in (post) pandemic times in cross border proceedings, which is co-funded by the European Union, runs from February 2024 to January 2026, and is implemented by a consortium of 5 partners from Greece, Bulgaria, Spain, Portugal, and Romania.

The EPHESUS project aims to strengthen judicial cooperation across the EU, focusing on criminal cases, with a view to optimising the use of the European Arrest Warrant (EAW) and alternative EU tools.
