The Centre for European Constitutional Law \u2013 Themistokles and Dimitris Tsatsos Foundation, in collaboration with research institutions from 14 European Union member states, is implementing the project ON-THE-MOVE – “The reality of free movement for young European citizens migrating in times of crisis\u201d. The project is co-funded by the Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme of the European Union and addresses the reality of free movement from the viewpoint of young European citizens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Large scale qualitative field research has been undertaken in 15 European Union member states, in which 567 young European citizens and 67 representatives of relevant authorities have been interviewed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the aim to present the findings of this research and generate meaningful dialogue between policy makers and young European citizens, we are organising a 1-day workshop on October 20th 2017, to be held in the European Parliament in Brussels. The workshop is addressed to EU officials, selected young people from across Europe who presented the most representative stories and members of national research teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop will examine the following:
– the current trends and the motives of young European citizens for moving
– the barriers that occur when young people exercise this right, whether \u2018real\u2019 or \u2018perceived\u2019, legal, administrative or social in nature and the solutions they have applied
– the root causes and proposed solutions to make free movement an accessible reality
– generate direct dialogue between policy makers and young European citizens<\/p>\n\n\n\n
