\nBackground and purpose of the event<\/p>\n
The event aims to explore the interaction between labour markets and the social security system. In contemporary societies, labour markets are in constant change through new forms of work such as virtual work, B&B, Uber, working platforms etc. Contrary to the constantly changing nature of the labour market the social security system tends to be rigid and inflexible with limited ability to respond to challenges other than the ones it was founded on (eg unemployment, disability, sickness etc). The event aims to address a two-fold question: on the one hand, how does the social security system need to reinvent itself to respond to new forms of labour and accommodate new evolutions? And secondly, what kind of challenges and opportunities does this entail for social security education?<\/p>\n
