Within the framework of the *SafeBorders \u2013 Strengthening Judicial Expertise and Frontline Support to Combat Child Trafficking* project (ISF \/ 101188335), the Centre for European Constitutional Law \u2013 Tsatsos Foundation, with the contribution of the General Secretariat for Vulnerable Persons and Institutional Protection of the Ministry of Migration and Asylum, conducted research aimed at collecting and analysing information on existing practices, challenges, and cross-border cooperation in addressing child trafficking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The research included a literature review and field research, involving a total of 37 representatives of competent authorities and frontline professionals from the fields of justice, law enforcement, child protection, and victim support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key areas of focus of the research included, among others, a review of the existing legal framework, the use of available public statistical data, an examination of the socio-economic factors that increase children\u2019s vulnerability, the identification of emerging trends, as well as good practices in prevention and response, and issues related to cross-border cooperation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The findings of the research across the eight partner countries of the project contributed to the development of a Practical Handbook for combating trafficking in human beings, which is expected to be published in the coming months in both Greek and English.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
