{"id":6051,"date":"2020-01-15T18:19:09","date_gmt":"2020-01-15T16:19:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thesandbox.eu\/?page_id=6051"},"modified":"2025-06-20T12:43:18","modified_gmt":"2025-06-20T09:43:18","slug":"thematic-fields","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.cecl.gr\/en\/thematic-fields\/","title":{"rendered":"Thematic Fields"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Activities<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nactivities of the Foundation include: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Scientific research in<br>specific thematic fields<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Training and participation in<br>research networks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organisation of international<br>conferences and meetings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scientific publications <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Institution and capacity<br>building projects<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consulting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, a Training Department operates within the structure of the Foundation, the objective of which is to transfer specialized know-how and new skills to legal practitioners, entrepreneurs and business managers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Foundation has been awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification for the services it offers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Center for European Constitutional Law &#8211; Themistokles and Dimitris Tsatsos Foundation, following a decision of the Plenary Session of the National Commission for Human Rights on 16.4.22, participates in the composition of the Commission by appointing two persons as its members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Participation in\ninternational networks <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Foundation hosts the National Contact Point of the Fundamental Rights Network (FRANET) coordinated by the European Union Agency on Fundamental Rights (FRA) (since 2007) and conducts extensive research and data collection on fundamental rights. It is also accredited to participate in European Commission Twinning projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u03a4he foundation has Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). With this status, the Foundation can:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Designate official representatives to the UN Headquarters in New York and Offices in Geneva and Vienna<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in United Nations conferences, events, and public sessions of ECOSOC, the Human Rights Council, and\u2014under certain conditions\u2014the General Assembly and other United Nations intergovernmental bodies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit written and oral statements relevant to ECOSOC\u2019s work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engage in consultations and contribute expert analysis, research, and policy recommendations upon request<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Access United Nations press documentation services, libraries, and facilities for meetings and informal discussions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nFoundation coordinates the Research Group &#8220;Constitution-Making and\nConstitutional Change&#8221; of the International Association of Constitutional\nLaw and organizes high level conferences, workshops and publications in Europe\nand North America. It also manages the Research Group&#8217;s blog <a href=\"http:\/\/constitutional-change.com\/\">http:\/\/constitutional-change.com\/<\/a>.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The\nFoundation is a member of the Greek Section of the European Network on the\nEuropean Social Charter and Social Rights (ANESC) that promotes the\nimplementation of European Social Charter and the protection of social rights\nin Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Thematic areas of expertise<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The main thematic fields of the Foundation&#8217;s\nactivities are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Constitutional institutions, Fundamental rights, Good Governance and\nBetter Regulation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fundamental Rights<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Modernization of Public Administration and Local Government<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Justice<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Regulatory Reform<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Combating Corruption and Organised Crime<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Welfare State, Social and Educational Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Employment and Social Security<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Combating Social Exclusion and promoting social inclusion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Social Welfare<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Health Policy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Education and vocational training<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>International and European institutions and\npolicies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Deepening of European Integration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Competition and Internal Market<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Justice and Home Affairs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Equality and non-discrimination<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Immigration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Environment and Sustainable Development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Specialised research Units<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Four\nspecialised units operate within the structure of the Foundation, namely:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The Unit for Better Regulation:<\/strong> The aim of the Unit for Better Regulation is to perform theoretical and applied research in the field of Better Regulation (regulatory impact assessment, simplification of administrative procedures, codification of legislation, measurement of administrative burdens, application of the standard cost model, public consultations etc.).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Educational Policy Unit:<\/strong> The activities of the educational policy unit are focused on the national and international comparative dimension of the organization and administration of educational institutions, in both formal and non-formal education, the link between education and labor market, the fight against social exclusion, the promotion of social integration and the provision of training to the staff of educational institutions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Social Policy Unit:<\/strong> The activities of the social policy unit are focused on the study of the European and international experience in the field of social policy, their interdisciplinary approach and the formulation of valid policy proposals.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Justice Reform Unit:<\/strong> The objective of the Unit is to contribute to the quality of the function of the judicial system by investigating the problems and the required reforms, as well as studying the international experience in this field.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Activities The activities of the Foundation include: Moreover, a Training Department operates within the structure of the Foundation, the objective of which is to transfer specialized know-how and new skills to legal practitioners, entrepreneurs and business managers.
