Training trainers in good governance
The overall objective of the project was to train a team of trainers in all aspects of good governance as a basic step in the process of setting standards, spreading knowledge and lobbying with governments to undertake concrete actions in this direction.
The specific objective of the project was to enrich the curricula of training delivered by the Khartoum International Centre for Human Rights (KICHR), through the provision of knowledge on democracy and good governance.
The main activity of the project included the organization of two Workshops on Democratic institutions and Good governance. The training seminars were addressed to a selected audience of experts from Sudan who will further be involved in the training activities of KICHR and took place in Athens.
The programme of the workshops included visits to the Greek Ombudsman and the National Committee for Human Rights.
An Open Training Seminar Visibility Event took place in Khartoum Sudan, both for the dissemination of the outputs of the project and the provision, to the wider public, of information relevant to Good Governance.
The outputs of the project include a Trainers Manual on Good Governance, which compiles a selection of papers on basic aspects of Good Governance. Additionally, a Beginners Guide on Good Governance, which provides basic information on the main issues of the relevant discussion, was published. The Manual, as well as the Beginners Guide are edited and published in English.
The project was funded by Hellenic Aid of the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs and implemented by Centre for European Constitutional Law Themistokles and Dimitris Tsatsos Foundation with the collaboration of KICHR.
